Recycling & the Green Site
The Town of Baileys Harbor runs the Green Site for recycling and yard waste. Hours, what’s accepted, and permit details are on the Town’s page:
Phragmites and noxious weeds
The DNR allows mechanical removal of phragmites and cattails without a permit (no motorized vehicles). Residents can obtain a free permit to burn the removed plants, though they are wet and difficult to burn. The Ridges Sanctuary’s land manager coordinates the Baileys Harbor Noxious Weed Ordinance locally.
